Sooner or Later - Michael Tolcher

"Sooner Or Later" [Verse 1] Pull the hair back from your eyes Let the people see your pretty face Try not to say anything weird Save your questions without answers 'Til your old enough to know that things ain't as they appeared Before you go out in the sun Cover your skin and don't get burned Beware the cancer, it might kill you when you're old Be first in line, raise your hand Remember everything you hear And playing in the rain is worth catching cold [Chorus] Sooner or later We'll be lookin' back on everything And we'll laugh about it like we knew what all was happening And someday you might listen to what people have to say Now you learn the hard way [Verse 2] We only want what's best for you That's why we tell you what to do And nevermind if nothing makes sense 'Cause it all works out in the end You're just like us without a friend But you can build a privacy fence (Yeah) [Repeat Chorus] [Verse 3] Somethings you have to learn them all on your own You can't rely on anybody else Or the point of view of a source unknown If it feels good and sounds nice Then it's your choice don't doubt yourself Don't even think twice Pull the hair back from your eyes Let the people see your pretty face You know they like it when you smile (Find a reason to smile) Try not to focus on yourself Share that love with someone else Don't let the bitters bring you down (Down) Don't let anything bring you down

I got junk in my trunk...

So, my cousins are coming in town sat and I decided, what a better time to clean out my trunk? (since I'm picking them up at the airport...)

Needless to say, it was interesting.... The following is a list of most of the things that were in my trunk:

- 7 DVDs (the ones Kacee didn't want to borrow, that I put in my trunk so someone wouldn't break into my car to steal them)

- Ice Skates (I left them in there. partially because I have nowhere else to put them, partially because you never know when you'll need ice skates!)

- Jack-o-lantern (one of those ones that people use for trick-or-treating. have you ever noticed that Halloween things have a lot of hyphens?)

- Empty Wine Bottle (that i apparently missed when I brought recycling to my parent's house)

- Spare Tire & Jack (obviously I left these in there, but they're now in their correct spot and not on top of everything else...)

- Fireworks & Bottle Rockets (again, because you never know when you'll need them! actually, I think they're leftover from a Canada Day...?)

- Picture Frame (which I took inside and put pictures in, but have no where really to hang...)

- Taboo (I always forget that I own it... it's in my room now though)

- A Calendar (don't worry, it's 2009)

- PIB Mugs (from 2006. 13 of them.... lol)

- 2L of Coke (probably from some panhellenic picnic forever ago. I don't even drink coke...)

- Socks (the key here is, that they're not mine... hmmmmm...)

- Precalculus Textbook (I have no idea how long ago it was that I took precalc, but it was YEARS ago)

- Everything you need for a Cookout (charcoal, matches, aluminum foil, plates, napkins, silverware, garbage bags & solo cups)

- 8 DphiE Tshirts (all of which are smalls, so I can't even benefit from it...)

An Amazing Quote!

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Nickelback - If Today Was Your Last Day

My best friend gave me the best advice,
He said each day's a gift and not a given right.
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind,
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride.

If today was your last day, and tomorrow was too late,
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you, would you?
Would you live each moment like your last?
And leave old pictures in the past?
Donate every dime you have?
Would you, would you?
If today was your last day?

Against the grain should be your way of life.
What’s worth the price is always worth the fight.
Every second counts, 'cause there’s no second try.
So live like you'll never live it twice.
Don’t take the free ride in your own life.

Would you call those friends you never see?
Reminisce of memories,
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above,
That you'll finally fall in love?
If today was your last day.

If today was your last day,
Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart?
You know, it's never too late to shoot for the stars,
Regardless of who you are.
So, do whatever it takes, cuz you can't rewind a moment in this life.
Let nothing stand in your way,
'Cause the hands of time are never on your side.
I’m there, I'm on your side.

I'm officially a student again!

So, I have officially registered for KSU this semester! I'm pretty excited, yet scared at the same time. I'm not sure why I feel so differently this time around, but I think that it may have something to do with being completely shot down last time around. I have all of my financial aid set up this time though, so that's completely taken care of. I just don't know what it is... Possibly it's that I know I cannot afford to fail this time, and if I do then it's pretty much over. No point waisting time and money on something/someone that's just not making any progress, thus not worth it... Also, every semester that goes by I get older and older than the student body, yet I'm not quite in the adult learner category. It's weird... I also am REALLY feeling the fact that almost ALL of my friends now have graduated and moved on to a different part of their lives now. Even for the ones that have gone back to school it's different because at this point it's just something that they feel like and want to do, not something that they HAVE to do in order to actually have a 1/2 decent shot at getting a job that they enjoy (not that it REALLY helps all that much anyway, in my observations...)

Oh well, it's raining now and hot outside. What's with the weather? I mean SERIOUSLY! lol...
